QUICK
Schemes: Are they realistic?
By Brenda Hyde
Get rich QUICK. Lose
Weight QUICK. Be a success QUICKLY.
Do you see a pattern here?
I beg to differ with all the spam that
comes into my email box,
but I don't think any of these things can
be done quickly. I
actually would like to accomplish all three of
those things; I think many
of us do. I understand the temptation
to want immediate results,
but it simply doesn't work that way.
I have found that to accomplish
a goal properly it takes time and
hard work. Sure, you can
lose that first 10 or 20 pounds quickly
with the newest weight loss
diet or pill, but will it stay off without
hard work? No. You
have to adjust your lifestyle by eating
healthy and exercising to
make a difference. Why not take your
time and do that right from
the beginning?

Becoming rich and successful
is never a quick process either, unless
you happen to win the lottery,
and even then, some of those
people end up broke and
far from successful. Money alone will
not make you successful.
Meeting your personal goals,
maintaining your integrity
and helping others is my definition
of success. I think it's
different for everyone, but the bottom
line is: Success is
not a QUICK process! I have found the
most important factor in
obtaining success is focus. If you can't
focus on your goals, and
stick with a plan, then you will not
be able to accomplish what
you need to. Besides that, it takes
research, knowledge and
hard work!
I know that I will continue
to receive "Get rich quick" emails
each morning. This
has become a morning ritual for me:
download email-delete spam.
I think I can actually use this
as a motivation each day.
Those emails will remind me that
I need to buckle down, maintain
my focus and work towards
my long range plan of becoming
successful. It may not
be a QUICK plan, but it
is realistic.
